EX, TR command in AutoCAD – Extend, Trim command – Trim and extend the 3D wireframe object

You can trim and extend an object to other object in 3D space, not need to concern that these objects are on the same plane or in parallel with the trimming edge or the extending boundary. In Trim and Extend command, you use Project and Edge option to select one of three projections to trim or extend.

– XY plane of current UCS
– Current projection plane
– Real 3D, not projection.

1. Trim 3D object by using current projection plane

The order is as follows:
1. Call the command: Modify Trim.At the Command prompt, enter trim.
2. Select the marge to trim then press ENTER to complete the selection.
3. Enter p (Project).
4. Enter v (View).
5. Select the object to trim.

• Trim

Select objects or <select all>: Select the marge to trim (1).
Select objects:
Select object to trim or shift-select to extend or
[Fence/Crossing/Project/Edge/eRase/Undo]: P
Enter a projection option [None/Ucs/View] <ucs>: V
Select object to trim or shift-select to extend or
[Fence/Crossing/Project/Edge/eRase/Undo]: Select objects to trim (2)

2. Trim 3D wireframe object with Trim command in AutoCAD.

The order is as follows:
1. Call the command: Modify Trim.At the Command prompt, enter trim
2. Select the marge to trim (1) then press ENTER to complete the selection.
3. Enter p (Project).
4. Enter n (None)
5. Select objects between 2 marges (2) to trim

3. Extend 3D wireframe object with Trim command in AutoCAD.

The order is as follows:
1. Call the command: Modify Extend.At the Command prompt, enter extend
2. Select the boundary to extend (1).
3. Enter e (Edge)
4. Enter e (Extend).
5. Enter p (Project).
6. Enter u (UCS).
Select object to extend (2)
