Save as command in AutoCAD – Create the format DXF file

1. Export the whole AutoCAD drawing into DXF file – Saveas command

  • Click File menu Save As. Enter Saveas command, dialog box Save Drawing As appears.
  • In the dialog box Save Drawing As, at list box Files of Type, choose the format DXF.
  • Choose folder and enter file name to save
  • Press Save.

Extension part .dxf is automatically attached to the file name.

2. Export some chosen objects into DXF file – Saveas command

  • Click File menu Save As. Enter saveas command, dialog box Save Drawing As appears.
  • In the dialog box Save Drawing As, at list box Files of Type, choose the format DXF.
  • Start Tools Options at the right corner of dialog box, the dialog box Saveas Options appears (picture 15.13a)
  • Choose tab DXF Options (picture 15.13b).
  • Choose the format DXF you want and choose þ Select objects. Enter a value for decimal number replacing for precision.
  • Press OK.
  • In the dialog box Save Drawing As, choose folder and enter file name.
  • Press Select objects: Choose the objects to export into DXF file until you do not choose any more.

Extension part .dxf is automatically attached to the file name.
