Interfere command in AutoCAD – Check the interference among 3D Solids
1. The way to call Interfere command in AutoCAD.

Interfere command displays the interfering dash lines of 3D Solids with a part of common volume. If you select a group of single objects, Interfere command will check all solids in this group in comparison with other solids. If you select 2 groups of objects, Interfere command will check the solids in the first group in comparison with the solids in the second group. If there are same 3D solids in both groups, Interfere command will view 3D solid of the first group and ignore 3D solid of the second group.

Select first set of objects or [Nested selection/Settings]: Select the first group (1)

Nested Selection
It allows you to select separate solids objects nested in Blocks and extra references xrefs. When you enter N instead of the option, the prompt line appears:
Select nested objects or [eXit] <X>: Select nested objects
- Settings
When you enter Settings option, Interference Settings dialog box appears:

- Interference Objects
Define visual style and color for interfering parts.
- Visual Style Define visual style for intersection parts.. INTERFEREOBJVS is system variable controlling visual style for interference objects
- Color Define color for intersection parts. INTERFERECOLOR is system variable controlling color for interference objects.
- Highlight Interfering Pair Display dash lines of solid interfering pair
- Highlight Interference Display dash lines of interference created by solid interfering pairs
- Viewport Display
Choose visual style for object displaying viewport when checking interference.
- Check
When you enter C (Check), Interference Checking dialog box appears (picture 8.24). It allows you to rotate and zoom the interference. You also can delete or not delete the interference object when you close the dialog box.
- Interfering Objects
Display number of interference objects found among each group when carrying out Interfere command.
- First Set Display number of selected objects in the first group
- Second Set Display number of selected objects in the second group
- Interfering Pairs Found Display number of interference objects found among selected objects.
- Highlight
Interference objects display dash line when using Previous and Next to rotate the objects.

- Previous Display dash line of previous interference object
- Next Display dash line of next interference object
- Zoom to Pair Zoom interference object when using Previous and Next.
- Zoom Close the dialog box and start to Zoom command to zoom the screen
- Pan Close the dialog box and start to Pan command to exit the screen
- 3D Orbit Close the dialog box and start to 3Dorbit command to control the interactive observation of 3D object.
- þ Delete Interference Objects Created on Close
When you choose this node, you delete the created interference object when closing the dialog box.
- Close: Close the dialog box.
