Rectang command in AutoCAD – draw rectangle

Rectang command in AutoCAD, REC command in autocad is to draw rectangle in cad. The way to access the command as below:

Menu: Draw ->Rectang
Command: Rectang or REC

REC command in autocad is used to draw rectangle. For polyline rectangle, you can use Pedit command to edit and Explode command to explode them into the straight line segments.

Command : REC

– Specify first corner point or [Chamfer/Elevation/ Fillet/ Thickness/ Width – enter the first angle of rectangle or enter parameters (enter the first character of parameters)
– Specify other corner point or [Dimensions]: ] – enter the second angle of rectangle or enter parameters (detailed parameters as below)
+ Chamfer (After starting command, you type C ) – Chamfer 4 tops of rectangle (draw chamfering rectangle in cad)

Specify first chamfer distance…….. Enter value of the first side to chamfer
Specify Second chamfer distance…….. Enter value of the second side to chamfer
Specify first corner…….. After entering chamfer parameter, you enter the first angle of rectangle
Specify other corner point……. enter the second angle of rectangle

+ Fillet (After starting command, you type F ) – Round up the tops of rectangle (draw rounded rectangle in cad)

Specify fillet radius for rectangles.. enter radius to round up
Specify first corner…….. After entering radius, you enter the first angle of rectangle
Specify other corner point……. enter the second angle of rectangle

+ Width (After starting command, you type W ) – Define the width of drawing line for rectangle

Specify line width for rectangles<>: Enter the width of drawing line for rectangle
Specify first corner…….. After entering the width of drawing line, you enter the first angle of rectangle
Specify other corner point……. enter the second angle of rectangle

+ Elevation/ Thickness – Use in drawing 3D

+ Dimension – This parameter allows you to enter the width and the length of rectangle following to the below prompt lines: width

Specify lenght for rectangles<..>: Enter the lenght of rectangle
Specify Widht for rectangles<..>: Enter the Width of rectangle

If you want to use this command to draw the square in cad, you simply use the above functions and let 2 equal sides.
