Subtract command in AutoCAD – The command to subtract Regions

Subtract command in AutoCAD is the command to subtract Regions. The way to use the command as below:

  • Command line: Subtract
  • Menu: Modify / Solids editings – Subtract…

This command subtracts the intersection of Regions. Region, which is chosen firstly, is considered as basic region (remain region after Subtract command). Regions, which are chosen later, are considered as subtracted conditional regions.

Command: subtract

  • Select solids and regions to subtract from ..
  • Select objects: choose basic region
  • Select objects: ↵ to complete
  • Select solids and regions to subtract ..
  • Select objects: choose conditional region
  • Select objects: ↵ to complete
