3DF command – 3Dface command – Create 3D face
1. The way to call 3DF command in AutoCAD.
Screen menu | Type command |
Draw2 » Surfaces » 3D face | 3Dface, 3F |
3Dface command creates a face including 3 or 4 edges in 3D space. You can enter the different Z coordinates for each vertex of this 3D face. Each face created by 3Dface command is a single object which is not exploded by Explode command.
- 3Dface
Specify first point or [Invisible]: Select the first point or enter i option.
2. The options with 3DF command
- First Point
This option defines the start point for 3Dface. After entering the start point, next you enter the rest points following to clockwise or counter-clockwise to create normal 3D face. If you fix all 4 points on the same plane, a planar face is created similarly as region object. When you shade the object by shade or render command, planar faces are shaded.
The invisible property comes before any order of catching point, separating point or entering the coordinates for that edge. You can create 3D face where all edges are invisible.
For example phantom, it does not appear at wireframe performance but it can be shaded.
