Instruction for displaying drawing on Layout with AutoCAD 2021

The upgrade in updated AutoCAD 2019 is remarkable with regime NewViews and Insertview which help to display drawing on Layout more conveniently and easier.

We will supplement other new features in other writings later.

Normally, if you want to display drawing on Layout, you will use MView (MV) command to open a window to view to model. However, in 2021 version, you can use more NewViews (NV) command to select a drawing area in model to extract to layout. Moreover, you can name for these windows to serve enough for next use without manipulating again as MView command. Next, Insertview tool on AutoCAD 2021 will help you to insert the named viewport window and name frame in layout. Especially, these viewport windows also help to directly edit scale without going to Properties dialog box. Please follow us to guide in details through the pictures!

Step 1: Commad: NV/Spacebar
Or on Ribbon range, you select View/ Newview:

Step 2: When Newiew dialog box… appears, you proceed to name for new viewport window (Please note to select name which is easy to remember and distinguish)

Next, you press at Define view window (red frame) to scan to select the area you want to create new viewport/ Spacebar/ Newiew dialog box… appears again, you click OK to complete the process of creating viewport.

Step 3: Go to layout, you proceed to select Insertview as the following picture:

The viewports will appear, at this moment you can easily put Viewport window at the place you want:

Step 4: Click to select the put viewport window and proceed to click at blue triangle icon as the picture to customize scale for viewport window:

Similarly, you can set up more other viewports without mistake because the windows have clear names.
