Imprint command in AutoCAD – Imprint the object on 3D Solid

The way to call Imprint command in AutoCAD

Scroll down menu Type command Type command
Modify » Solid Editing » Imprint Edges Imprint Solid Editing

Imprint command is to imprint an edge on 3D solid object. The imprinted object must intersect with one or more faces on the selected solid so that it is successful. Imprint is limited for the following objects: arcs, circles, lines, 2D và 3D polylines, ellipses, splines, regions, bodies and 3D solids.

  • Imprint

Select a 3D solid: Select a 3D solid object (1) to imprint.
Select an object to imprint: Select a geometry object (2) to imprint on solid.
Delete the source object [Yes/No] <N>: Y¿ Enter y to delete the imprinted source object or ENTER to not delete the source object
Select an object to imprint: ¿ Continue to select another geometry object to imprint on 3D solid (1) or press ENTER to complete.
At this moment, cylinder solid imprints 2 arcs and 2 straight segments on box shape.
